Dům U Zlatého prstenu - Muzeum města Prahy
A historic house in old town. Inside 3 stories are dedicated to the description of the history and beginning of Prague in 1310. Well done tales of how modern Prague came to be. Detailed artifact cases, displays, illustrations, and videos. The technology is so up to date! English language translated in both written form and audio throughout the entire exhibit. It is very worthy of a visit, but allow at least 2 hours to fully comprehend the journey through time!

You will never look at Charles square the same way. I’ve found the museum very interesting and very engaging. Not at all a series of boring artefacts, but a lot of videos, models and projection, or a mix of the three. The name of the museum is confusing though as the main museum of the city of Prague is in Florenc and closed temporarily.Whereas on the 1st floor was the main exhibition “In the footsteps of Charles IV,”, on the basement was also a very interesting exhibition about Jaroslav Foglar, a famous Czech writer for children and the exhibition was reconstituting the Prague streets and atmosphere described in his books. You also see references to comics Jan Fischer drew from his books. This exhibition, unlike the first one, isn’t English friendly but you can ask for the 2 printed sheets explaining the display.

Amazing museum about the development or Prague City and lives of its inhabitants in the Charles IV era. Spent over 2 hours here and got fully lost in the interactive videos, light shows and audio that guide you through the museum. The staff were also really helpful and it only costs 80czk for under 26's - would completely recommend!

excellent to understand the history of the City and the country. Charles IV is the soul of the city. It is very well designed. DO NOT forget to ask for your headphones they are the key to the museum! It has a wonderful area for children. The staff throughout the museum are very nice but they do not speak English

A very lovely museum! Well designed and was very interesting. It was recommend by our tour guide during the walking tour as lesser known museum in prague but a must visit one. The staff were older women who were so helpful and charming. The ground floor exhibition was like a place of a horror movie or a tim burton location, there were no english translations for the ground floor so i didnt really understand but the aesthetic and presentation was very good. The 1st floor and second floor were with english translations and headphones options, it really explained it detail how prague was designed.

Very interesting and demonstrative exhibition. The best part was the 3D model of the old and new town that was augmented by a projection that helped to understand the development of the city. The staff was very friendly but many did not speak any English which made it hard to to communicate. The audio guide is available in Czech and English.

I believe that I had the best museum experience in this building so far in my life. From the great presentation of Czech history and history of its famous capitol to the wonderful and really helpful staff members - everything made an impact on me. The most enjoyable moment was, when elderly lady - one of the staff - vastly explained to us veduta from the 1606 with a tremendous joy. We will pay the visit to this museum every time we will be in Prague.

We want to recommend to everyone this place. There is an amazing exhibition about Prague in time of Charles the IV. and more... Interactive, fresh, educative, absolutely great. All descriptions are in Czech and also in English. To see it all and listen all comments is taking around 2 hours. Definitely go there if you like Prague. You will be suprised how great was Prague in medieval ages! It was a center of Holy Roman Empire with the biggest square. Charles the IV. was and impressive ruler with a never-dying" ideas! Go and see!!!"
