I have no direct experience with this snakepit, but this morning a very good friend of mine was literally tricked into being admitted, despite his mother's wishes that he not be. He traveled there alone, 17 years-old, in good faith. He thought he was meeting a psychiatrist there as an outpatient. He was interviewed by an intake shrink for approximately 10 minutes. TEN MINUTES. And it was decided that admitting him against his will and his mother's will was the best way for the hospital to make money...I mean provide treatment. The patient band was slapped on his wrist before his mother could even get there. He was terrified, which naturally only exacerbated the conditions that got him at Bohnice in the first place. Ten minutes is nothing. No competent psychiatrist would make the decision to admit on a 10 minute interview. But a greedy one would. I know the patient probably better than anyone, including his parents, and he is simply not a danger to himself or to others. If he was, there would be a legitimate reason to lock him up. But by now, they've already turned him into a zombie with meds and are gleefully figuring out how to make the most financially out of him. One poor young woman has posted here that her stay was so traumatic that she'd run away before going back. To Bohnice: I say shame on you. Drag yourselves into THIS century where mental health is no longer dealt with in such a barbaric manner. To anyone considering checking in to this questionable Hotel California, please do your homework and think carefully. Remember the thing about Hotel California is: ...you can check out any time you like

Utterly useless, working hours end at 3pm. They won’t dispense essential medicine even with psychiatrists report. When I asked the doctor for advice on where to go she told me “why don’t you Google it” as if I hadn’t already. No psychiatrist was present in the PSYCHIATRIC crisis clinic. No telephone operators speak English. They will refuse to help you because they can’t be bothered

Drastically underfunded. The worst experience ever in pavilon 27 in 2014. Totally wrong diagnosis, totally wrong medications. Some pavilons are good/great, but the acute ward (what used to be 27) is the worst place on earth and should not exist or be reformed!

Great psychiatric care. Staff is able to communicate effectively and I didn't feel any language barrier while discussing my metal and physical health.Pavilions which I was treated were: 27 and 21.The attached map should provide a glimpse of how comprehensive this facility is. There is also a theatre and community building places; which I'm yet to explore.Na zdravi!
