I had a really good experience getting a birth certificate. The whole process was in Czech as should be expected, but the staff were very caring and diligent and the process went off without a hitch. The whole place is organised like a machine and it's pretty clear what you need to do and where.

Waited +1.5 hours to request a national identity card

I didn't expect such service from a government organization. They were polite and fast, was in and out in 10 min.

The advice I got was go back to Cambodia and get the criminal records regardless you have PhD here or living here 6 years or having criminal records from Czech courthouse…There is no alternative advice or any helps. I saw the information in Minsterstvo průmyslu a obchodu website that it is possible to get an affidavit made before a notary or competent authority in the home country or country of their last-long residence (which my case is Czech Republic which I spent 6 years living here) and a Czech Criminal Registry (I have this proved of no criminal record)….Even though our king spent his 20 years of lives living here , we do not have embassy here and another embassy cannot issued criminal records…Seems that it’s helpless for a third country foreigner unless you spent 30-40 000 czk two days flight home just to get criminal records from the country where you didn’t live for six years there…:Btw, one lady in this office was rude and kept cutting the conversation when the other person was trying to explain something…
