A beautiful gothic church that we first couldn't tell by the exterior appearance. We were so lucky to encourage ourselves to enter the church to find its magnificently beautiful interior.

Es la segunda iglesia más alta de Praga y llama la atención por su gran altar. Merece una visita si estás en Praga , verla tanto por dentro como por fuera. Su arquitectura es preciosa y se encuentra muy bien cuidada.

Come here with a good tour guide and you will learn a lot about the different church altar. Do remember to climb up to the second floor and enjoy a bird eye view of the church.

Amazing church. Architectural wonder. A must visit in Prague!! There is a booklet you can get for a small fee which tells you the history of the church. I would recommend you to get a copy esp if you are visiting on your own to appreciate the many icons and statues in the church. I visited twice during my stay in Prague. Would love to visit again.

Built in 1347 in gothic style, renovated mid-17th century in baroque. The legend of Our Lady of the Snows, comes from Rome. The Roman patrician John and his wife, who were without heirs, made a vow to donate their possessions to the Virgin Mary. They prayed that she might make known to them how they were to dispose of their property in her honour. On 5 August, at the height of the Roman summer, snow fell during the night on the summit of the Esquiline Hill. In obedience to a vision of the Virgin Mary that they had the same night, the couple built a basilica in honour of Mary on the very spot that was covered with snow. This basilica is Santa Maria Maggiore, one of the most important churches in Rome.

Escondida entre los edificios, una entrada disimulada da a un patio y este a la puerta esconde el tesoro que hay dentro. Una IGLESIA con mayúsculas. Altísima, preciosa.

Very underrated church, completely empty at the morning (9-10 am), it’s giant and the baroque altar is 30 meter high and very impressive. The building was started by the king Charles IV, and it was supposed to be the coronations church. The size was supposed to be the same as the St. Wit’s Cathedral, but the Hussite wars stopped the building. When the building started again, it was finished in reinessance style. The building remains the tallest gothic church in Prague.

Muy bonita! vale la pena su visita y dedicarle tiempo a reparar en todos sus detalles y en el retablo. Su exterior no refleja su interior.
