Not so friendly security guys or entrance staff. The Falza exposition is tiny and old masters exposition is kinda interesting. The decoration of the walls in some rooms is beautiful too.

The palace entrance was slightly difficult to locate, but once inside my viewing experience was 100% fantastic. There were hoards of tourists outside on the streets wandering around with no public place to just sit and take in the experience. Inside the palace is quiet, very few people there to observe the exhibits. Bonus at the end of it all is the garden behind the palace with tables beneath the trees and a goldfish pond. It was a fantastic retreat from the busy streets in Prague and a moment to reflect on what I observed during the visit. CZK500 to visit more than just a couple of exhibitions was the opportunity of a lifetime for me. These exhibitions are a central theme to a visit in Prague.

An espresso is quite a good choice in their coffee shop. When we went to the garden after that, a security guard came after us telling that the garden is “not public”. I mentioned him that the sign is missing, and the door was open. Of course, he didn’t care. The large ads outside are welcoming, “cafe and a nice garden”. Sure, you better buy your ticket for that.Prague’s most bored guards can be found at this place.

Now this is what I call a great museum. The collection of art itself is very important, in here boasting with antic ceramics, medieval icons to dutch masters (which I must say am really fond of) - so I dare say it is well worth the visit. It is here that you can find the only Rembrandt in the Czech Republic. Most of the works have interesting plaques in English, which is great for international visitors. The gallery is well hidden, you have to go through a gate next to arcbishop palace, but the whole place is not all that full so you can really enjoy the beautiful exposition in an equally beautiful building.

Generally, I understood that I had misjudged the touristic potential of Prague. Prague is an absolutely lovely winter vacation spot. The spirit of the city is cold and you can better feel it I'm in the winter but I don't like winter that's why only museums & palaces were for me must see. Sternbergsky palace one of those places one's should visit.

The palace was excellently renovated. Exhibitions were professionally displayed. Glares & reflections are optmized. And most of all, the objects & paintings allowed to public in here, are too precious to be missed.

Unquestionable collection, despite of the lack of organization and stability hidden behind the label Národní Galerie" (National Gallery): artwork keeps changing buildings without any logic. If a someone comes here looking for a particular piece

The Sternberg Palace, an artistic beauty itself, exhibits some 3500 years worth of art covering sculptures from Antiquity, religious iconography from the Middle Ages, splendid paintings from the Renaissance, and masterful illustrations from the Baroque. Our visit at the Sternberg Palace was truly inspirational!

Nice collection of European art, very informative descriptions that are useful if you are not too familiar with art history. Not very crowded so it's a nice place to escape the flocks of tourists in the area. Main drawbacks - the exhibits are not very well lit, some displays are placed in front of the windows and are almost impossible to see due to the glare. The attendants will follow you around to almost comical extent, so be ready for that. I recommend visiting the temporary exhibitions, the one I saw was very well curated, perfectly lit and the attendants seemed less eager to breathe down my neck in there.
