Rozhledna Černá Studnice

It's a beautiful spot with a beautiful lookout tower and a restaurant kinda hidden in the forrest, but it's a well known place, so even now with all the restrictions, there's usually a lot of people.Also the lookout tower is located basically at the top of the natural rodelbahn (sledging course?) and you can rent the sled at the restaurant/main building.But beware that the rodelbahn gets really crowded since there's a lot of snow now.

Great lookout to Liberec, Jablonec, Jizerske hory Mts., Krkonose Mts. (Snezka, Kotel, Cerna hora) and large lower elevation area (Trosky, Kozakov, Tabor, Ralsko, Bezdez). Fifty crowns entrance fee bur definitely worth it. Local Rezek beer in the souvenir shop. Very good and well cooled. Nice rocks nearby and some climbing areas within one kilometer.

Absolutely magic place

The tower is not very tall but it is at a perfect spot so you can see very far in all directions. Entry costs 50,- CZK per adult and 30,- CZK per child. Perfect place for landscape photographers.

Hiked here from our nearby Airbnb on the most beautiful snowy trail through the forest. Magical!

I visited this building in June of 1982 with my father during a father-son trip to Czechoslovakia when I was 16 years old. We were staying in an old school house in Cerna Studnice and decided one afternoon to take a walk up the road to the top of the mountain. I remember it was a beautiful warm summer afternoon. When we arrived at the top of the mountain I remember being surprised that there was a castle. My dad let me climb the tower while he waited below. There was no sign of anybody anywhere -- just dad and I. No bikes, no hikers, no cars. After climbing back down, I noticed heavy wooden doors adjacent to the tower and pulled one open. The room was full of men smoking and drinking beer. All of the talking stopped, and everyone stared at dad and I. We went in and had a beer.

Great place, great restaurant, must be when visiting Smržovka or Černy Studnice. Recommend feeding alpacas and having Bernard beer. There's also small arboretum helping people recognise trees and this little rock one can climb up. See it yourself, you'll like it for sure.
