A place to see the fist staging of 'Don Govani'. Very old and the most beautiful theater in Prague.

here, unfortunately, there are no subtitles right on the chair in front of you, which is why everything hard to read as the screen is too far away and you have to strain your eyes for the entire presentation if you don't speak the original language. friendly staff, didn't try the food, but there were snacks

A magical experience in the oldest european theatre. I strongly recommend not only to visit it with a tour guide but also to watch a performance. It's a far more immersive experience than just visiting it. Recommended

Spectacular experience watching Leonce and Lena at The Estates Theatre. Magnificent Theatre. I fell in love with the interior. Sat in A16 and it was a very good seat. Very good view. You can also see the orchestra while they’re playing. Leg room can be improved but not bad. I paid approximately £35 for my seat.

We watched Don Giovanni at this theater. It's beautiful and... this is actually where Mozart first presented Don Giovanni. It couldn't get any better!! Drinks are available at the bar downstairs during the intermission. I liked to have the subtitles on the screens. This is the first opera I watched that had the screens with subtitles telling the story. Prices are very inexpensive for good seats in Prague.

Very rich interior. The scene is amazing. Lots of space for performance and is utilized for extra special effects. The performance magic flute" was rich in numbers of visual curtains and flame coverd tools."

One of the gems of Prague. A beautiful theatre that makes you feel you went back in time. Visibility is excellent from the floor, while some of the upper tiers can have issues. However, the acoustic is good. The theatre houses a very good program of both Czech and international artists.

The lime-green and white Estates theatre (Stavovské Divadlo) is one of the finest examples of Neoclassical elegance in Prague. It was built in 1783 by Count Nostitz Rieneck for Prague’s influential German community. It is something of a mecca for Mozart aficionados since on 29 October 1787, it hosted the world premiere of Don Giovanni (a hooded bronze statue of Il Commendatore flanks the main entrance on the left), with Mozart himself conducting from the piano. The opera was an instant hit with Prague audiences despite flopping everywhere else in Europe.Due to his love affair with Prague, Mozart also chose to premier La Clemenza di Tito at the Estates theatre in 1791. Recognizing Mozart’s strong connection with the theatre, Czech director Miloš Forman made use of its interior in his famous Oscar-winning film Amadeus. The gold and blue auditorium of the theatre looks like a chocolate box and can only be seen when attending a performance inside. The Estates theatre occupies a special place in Czech history, for it was here that the Czech national anthem, “Kde domov můj?” (Where Is My Home?), was first performed, as part of the comedy Fidlovačka, by J.K. Tyl.

Amazing to think Mozart conducted here 9 weeks before he died. It's a wonderful place.
