Just had a wonderfull tour of the underground, guide spoke perfect english and clearly studied history. He was great in telling storys! When visiting this wondeful place you need to get this small tour!

Interesting place off the beaten path. Original Charles bridge statues are stored here. Vysehrad in general is away from the center of Prague so less crowded. Great views of the city and St. Vitus cathedral Less crowded.

Starting point for the tour of the Casemates and Gorlice, a very interesting place, good tour with accurate information about the interesting places and the stored originals of the Charles Bridge statues.

One of the entrances to the fantastic citadel of Vysehrad. I approached it this time ( my 9th visit ) through the tunnel on the East side and then up the hill.This is the most tranquill ( and romantic ) neighbourhood of Prague, offering terrific views of the city from all directions.Walk through the cemetery where so many famous as well as many unknown to me deceased are buried...Dvorak, Smetana ,Kubelik and the former chief conductor of the Czech Phil. Orchestra...Karel Ancerl ....who i had the honour of attending 2 of his concerts over 50 yrs ago.

The first site we went in Vysehrad was the most important one for me - Brick Gate, Casemates & Gorlice. This is an underground cellar that can be accessed only with a guided tour that happens once every hour. The Brickgate is the entrypoint to the Casemates & Gorlice. This was constructed in 1841.

Pay the money and take the tour inside the casemates. It is well worth it and very interesting. Be warned, it averages 8°C in there so wrap up warm. Tour guide is very knowledgeable and delivers the tour in Czech and English.

More out of the way and seemed less tourist made it this far. Lovely walk, tour if you’re inclined! Great views!
