Hotel Slovan

The location is excellent, central and next to a nice park. The old building is very beautiful. Room was spacious and clean. We requested for a double bed but got two separate beds, sadly, - and the balcony, although beautiful was in terribly dirty condition, we weren't anyways going to use it. The price was good for value. Breakfast was basic. Service was friendly, they held our luggage for us even after check out.

Horrible hotel. It's like camping indoors -- don't bother. Incompetent, odious hotel personnel will try to rip you off, and enjoy insulting guests. No shower curtains, but try to change floor towel that gets wet as a result and staff will give you trouble for it. No housekeeping. They will not clean the room while staying. Dirt and peeling paint everywhere.I like goulash and not gulag -- Hotel Slovan Plzeň is like gulag. Do not waste your time or money here.

Very outdated hotel in a great location. Clean hower still feels like being in the communist era. Staff was very nice and helpful.Expensive, not a good value. Breakfast had a good selection, good scrambled eggs, vegetables looked like they sat in the fridge few days already cut up. Overall would not stay again and would not recommend to others. The hotel needs major rehab.

Gulag" is more accurate term for Hotel Slovan. This place is rubbish bin calling itself 'hotel

Ok good things first:Perfect location next to the park, silent rooms at night, very nice flair outside and staircase, somewhat clean, breakfast ok, parking availableBUTRooms look like they haven't been renovated since 1980, bed was ceeaking and didn't dare to look under sheet, hot water only occasionally in 3rd floor, no shower curtain, stains of mold, windows hard to open, rooms weren't made over 3 days stay - privacy at least -Breakfast plundered by a bus load of best agers, no refill... If you are a student looking for a cheap stay go for it if you're looking for some standards...rather not

The location is great, easy walking to the city center. Rooms are the minimum you would want. No frills.

Fantastically located and fairly priced hotel. Rooms were clean but also a bit dated.Antique staircase inside is definitely best part of the whole thing. Overall, I recommend it if you're staying in Plzen and want to be at city centre.

Absolutly not friendly people work over there, breakfast stops early, but the place is absolutely magnificent. Well if you are count Dracula it must be ok to stay there.

I could see how this hotel receives negative reviews but I think it has mainly been from people who are expecting a sleek modern hotel.This is a completely retro experience stepping into history. The building itself is beautiful and the rooms are what you would expect from a Communist-era hotel (large doors, grand staircase, shared bathroom and showers).The location is perfect and situated on a lovely park near the central square and many shops. Very easy to get around on foot or by the nearby tram.The breakfast was good and overnight parking was for a fair price ($6).For women travelers (I was traveling with three women, but I am a man) the hotel is dark at night in some hallways and the bathroom is shared, but there is always someone working whether it’s the receptionist or the night watchman. There may be an option for a private bathroom in more expensive rooms.

It's a very old building. Best location. Lots of resturants and bars just near by. Breakfast was good. Very spacious rooms with garden view. Staff was good. They do speaks English and German. One can park car at their private parking for 6 euro per day.For a night or two not bad to stay here.
