Centrum sídlí v nejstarší budově. Semil, původním panském domě z roku 1760. Žil zde Antal Stašek a narodil se zde Ivan Olbracht.

Semily is a town in the Semily District, Liberec Region, of northern Bohemia in the Czech Republic. It has about 9,000 inhabitants.The Museum is located in the house where Ivan Olbracht (born Kamil Zeman), a Czech writer, journalist and translator of German prose, was born. This Baroque building dates back to the year 1760 and belongs to the one of the oldest in Semily. It is signifiant also because of the fact that Ivan Olbracht was born here in 1882 and spent his childhood here.The Museum was established in 1960 as the Museum of the Labour Movement. After 1989, the content orientation of the Museum changed. Visitors may tour two permanent expositions here. The first is dedicated to significant personalities of the Semily Region.The second exposition focuses on the traditional craft production and culture of the Horní Pojizeří Region. It is supplemented with a crib and marionettes made by the famous Maizner family of puppet-makers. Infocentrum nabízí turistické informace ze Semil i z celého regionu Český ráj, Pojizeří, Krkonoše a Jizerské hory. Poskytuje informace o památkách, tipech na výlety, ubytování, stravování a dalších službách, dále informace o vlakových a autobusových spojích a informace o kulturních a sportovních akcích.
