Zoo Liberec

When we first found out about the zoo, we didn't expect much from it, since the ticket prices were really low (6€ for adults, 5€ for students!!).BUT WE WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!! This Zoo is large, we spent 2 ½ hours here and were running out of time by the end!Very very very nice place, it has so many animals and the terrain and location are really nice. Most of the animals are kept in relatively animal friendly enclosures, there were many baby animals, showing that the animals living there are content.There are several smaller and bigger playgrounds for children to enjoy, most of the zoo is wheelchair and stroller accessible.Staff is very friendly, even though they do not really speak foreign languages, they will try their best to communicate. I loved it!Only thing I wished for were more languages on the signs explaining the animals, they were only in Czech but I don't blame them. The animal names were written also in English, German, and another language I can't remember right now.Overall great experience, I had a truly wonderful day!!!

What a nice little zoo. Animals over there look pretty comfortable and red pandas are so awesome. Kinda scary is that one cage that shows how animals are treated like sixty years ago.

Smaller than other Czech zoos, but you can still spent few enjoyable hours there. It seems more oriented to families with little kids since there are multiple playgrounds spread throughout the zoo.

The only reason I am giving 3 stars is the fact that animals are in horrible small cages and pens. Animals are looking bored and sad. Specially elephants, which are the most smart and sensitive mammals , I seen the same elephants in the same small yard even after 13 years that's the time when I visited zoo last time. They are still there at same small place, looking very sad, why you don't swipe their yard after few years with some other animal? Just to keep their mind busy, to explore and to be happy ? I have seen 1 elephant repeatly doing one move with head and front legs which is sympton of nervosity and psychical problems . Other one was lions and tigers behind the glass, no grass no space to run or jump on the trees . Yes it's nice to see them, so you keep them on eyes, but behind a glass and such a small place ? We will understand if we don't see them, just let them be more free . They have no privacy no relax just stress . Monkey at photo was also pretty bored, I think if he got some hay or some bedding will be more soft and fun for him to play in it.Zoo also looked kinda dirty in yards with animals, and stinky a lot more like in other's zoo's. Otherwise I like that zoo, there is a lot of things for kids to do, a lot of animals but I feel sorry for small yards .

We visited this zoo with our 2 kids. The entrance price is very affordable (€5,- for adults) and the zoo itself looks nice with lots of trees.Many cages are kinda small for the animals and needs renovation.There are 2 play ereas for the kids. Both are fun and looks neat.

The entrance fee is 6 € for adults, 5 € for students. There is family fee as well. It is a big zoo than we expected. it was very sad to see the lions, tigers in small cages. These huge and wild animals must run, move not walk continuously from left to right side. The sweet elephant, Bala mustn't be exposed like circus animal.The wild birds cages are very small and there were death birds, mouses into their cages.The wild animals must be into their habitat, free to move.

This is the oldest zoo in Czech republic, and it shows. It's not big like some other zoos, so you can see it all in 2-3 hours. The location is beautiful, with hillside paths, natural stream and the lake. The animals are well kept, even though during the winter many of them are confined to small enclosures or even absent at all.

I am disappointed of the zoo. This was my second visit, after ~20 years, I barely remember the first one, so let's say I've nothing to compare.Most of the animals have very poor enclosures, with almost no grass. Most of places looks like it wasn't repaired, renew or even cleaned a very long time and that's sad. Houses" for giraffes and elephant are disgusting. Many herbivorous mammals have no grass to eat

The Zoo in Liberec is the oldest zoo in the Czech Republic. It is small, there were few people and what I like is that the ZOO is located in nature. There is also a beautiful white tiger.
