Located a somewhat steep uphill trudge from the spa strip tourist zone, this pub is a gem - especially if you’re craving or just wanting to experience a real Czech meal. (It’s also a quick and easy walk from a bus stop if an uphill walk isn’t your thing, but I digress.)Service is friendly and top-notch. Credit cards are accepted.The menus we got were in Czech, German and English and include a short selection of appetizers, salads and beer plates in addition to the mains. We knew we wouldn’t have enough room to indulge in more than a main course so didn’t order more.I had the pork loin and the server recommended the garlic potatoes with it. I could have made a meal of the potatoes alone. Very tasty. The pork was perfectly cooked and topped with the best kind of bacon - crunchy! I really shouldn’t have polished off the last piece of pork on my plate, but I couldn’t help it. I still had about a quarter of the potatoes left over, but no room. My husband cleaned his plate of duck as well and declared the portion was just right. He was comfortably full. I was stuffed :-)We will definitely return and if we have friends visit, this is #1 on our list of places to share.

One of the best food experience in Cz Republic! Staff are very friendly and attentive. Meal sizes are huge- highly recommend to share one main course for two adults, despite that, waiter brought lots of souses - three choices of tabasco, mustard and so on..Prices are reasonable

It‘s a bit up the hills from Karlsbad Centre, but absolutely worth the way.The restaurant is traditionally equipped, and so it’s kitchen is. Traditional bohemian/chech kitchen with very friendly, charming owner and his wife! Absolutely recommended when in Karlovy Vary!

We had an excellent lunch there today. My husband had chicken and I had salmon; food tasted homemade. Generous portions. The atmosphere was charming with several old-school decor pieces.

The meat was marinated with many spices without being written on the menu. They charged us 18kc per person for sauce (olive oil, vinegar, Tabasco, etc) that we never used or ask for them. Also, they charged us 20kc for bread that we didn't order.

Definitely worth visiting! Family like atmosphere with friendly and professional staff that speaks multiple languages, together with deliciously made traditional czech cuisine makes this place worth the 10 minutes walk up the hill:) If you find yourself in K.Vary, craving for good food and beer, give it a go. You will not be disappointed.
