Mama's Hot - Dogs, Burgers & Fries

One of the best burgers in Ostrava hands down !!! the waiters were really nice and helpful. And they kept checking up on us every once in a while. The place is abit small so you better call and reserve a table before hand. Highly recommended !!

Nice small place with excellent burgers and also TV popularity (Pohlreich 3 stars) :-) Lunch menu was just one type of burger (easy choice:), but it was very very good, so no complains here ;-) On the other hand, 200+ czech crowns portions should be bigger, I guess. IMHO for the men the lunch burger & fries is not big enough and you may leave little bit hungry. 5* for the fantastic meat they are using ;-)

Good food, wouldn't say something amazing. Prices are a little big higher and fries are sold separately from burgers here.Inside it's on the smaller side and I highly recommend making a reservation before you go, although you may get lucky and find a free spot or a reservation that's a few hours away.

They are closed on Wednesday at 11:45. The place is supposed to be open by 11:30. No one there, no one answering the phone. Embarrassing... Avoid.

The best burger I've ever had in Ostrava. Great fries, burger and coleslaw.I have one complaint, the staff doesn't check emails so you must not try to make a reservation via email.

Bistro with the best Hod - Dogs and burgers in Ostrava. Original American recipes. Homemade buns, good quality beef meat from small farm. Also menu for vegeterians.

Where to start? I'm American, I love burgers and hotdogs. I know what a good hotdog or burger tastes like. Mama's Food Truck in Poruba in front of Tesco was great, offered really fantastic hotdogs similar to what you may find in the US. Then I found out they opened a restaurant and served burgers. Burgers are probably the best in Ostrava or one of the best. Angel grill in Frýdek Místek and Eat Meat in Ostrava are pretty good too.The Issue here is that after Zdeněk Pohlreich had Mama's Bistro on Ano Šéfe!, the burgers got pricey, too pricey for Ostrava. I pay this price in San Francisco for great burgers with sides and sauce included, even drinks depending on the burger bar or restaurant . It is really overpriced after being on TV. Second is that it takes a while to get food when busy, you get turned away as low capacity (no room) or if they don't have enough burgers for the day, who heard of a burger place not having enough burgers? Not me... You may not get hotdogs, maybe every once in a great while. Service in general has gotten worse.I would love to like Mama's more than I do, but until these things change its not worth it. You should be able to get a good burger for 200 Kč with a side, sauce, and a drink included in Ostrava, if not it's overpriced for the area and overpriced as I may get a great burger for that price or just slightly more in San Francisco, California or Detroit, Michigan or Chicago, Illinois, throughout the US. A hotdog between 100 - 150 Kč max with a side, drink, and sauce.Kde začít? Jsem Američan, miluji hamburgery a párek v rohlíku. Vím, jak dobrý párek v rohlíku nebo hamburger chutná. Mama's Food Truck v Porubě před Tesco bylo skvělé, nabídlo opravdu fantastické hotdogy podobné těm, které najdete v USA. Pak jsem zjistil, že otevřeli restauraci a podávali hamburgery. Burgery jsou pravděpodobně nejlepší v Ostravě nebo jeden z nejlepších. Andělský gril ve Frýdku Místku a Jíst maso v Ostravě jsou také docela dobré.Problémem je, že poté, co Zdeněk Pohlreich nechal Maminu bistru na Ano Šéfe! Tuto cenu platím v San Franciscu za skvělé hamburgery s boky a omáčkou včetně nápojů v závislosti na hamburgerovém baru nebo restauraci. Po televizi je to opravdu předražené. Zadruhé je to, že si jídlo, když je zaneprázdněno, chvíli potrvá, odvrátíte se jako nízká kapacita (žádný pokoj) nebo pokud nemají dostatek hamburgerů na den, kdo slyšel o tom, že hamburger nemá dostatek hamburgerů? Ne já ... Možná nebudete mít hotdogy, možná každý jednou za skvělou chvíli. Služba obecně se zhoršila.Rád bych se líbil mámě víc než já, ale dokud se tyto věci nezmění, nestojí to za to. Měli byste být schopni získat dobrého hamburgera za 200 Kč se stranou, omáčkou a nápojem zahrnutým v Ostravě, pokud ne, je to předražené pro tuto oblast a předražené, protože za tu cenu mohu získat skvělého hamburgeru nebo jen o něco více v San Francisco, Kalifornie nebo Detroit, Michigan nebo Chicago, Illinois, po celých USA. Párek v rohlíku mezi 100 - 150 Kč max. Se stranou, pitím a omáčkou.

inside was a bit hot because there was no air condition. food came out faster than I expected. the burger was great and the staff was very nice

If you like good burgers, you will love this place. Their menu is not too long and it offers very good varieties of burgers and side dishes such as french fries or coleslaw.I really recommend to you to make a reservation because this place is popular these days.
