This incredible piece of functionalistic architecture, opened 1939, used to be one of the biggest department stores in the Central Europe in the middlewar era. There was also one of the first escalators in Prague (actually whole Czechoslovakia). The Swan on the top of the roof is the oldest neon sign in Prague. Unfortunately, the glory is gone, the building is almost empty and it looks like waiting for reconstruction. Fingers crossed.

I like this place. Never too crowded, with a Costa Café, a nice book store (but for czeck readers, only) and some magazines (stores) to work by.

If you want to see how the retro communists store looks like, please go. This is just retro! Unfortunatelly in one of the unique buildings in the Prague centre. I have taken fantastic pictures there! The owners family is well known for tunelling the companies intheir equity, so no wonder this building is no exception. Communists skansen in Prague! And do not forget to climb to top floor!

Shopping arcade near the centre and in the middle of two subway stations. Location is great and there is situated also the only one Lidl shop of centre, which makes the aracde very attractive for visit. Shops include also a delivery service(you can pick here ordered items from various eshops up) and the two previous mentioned are quite stable. Another brand shop seem to function barely. I would recommend to buy here something expensive, because it may pose a serious problem to complain about the store later. As far as I know, there are no restaurants inside except of one big in the very upper floor which looks wierd and old-fashioned.

One of the first super-markets in commie era, now stands in the center of Prague exposing monstrous spacious architecture of that era. There are only few interesting / funny shops there (99c shop, cheap sport accessory outlet) and a canteen that looks exactly like 20-30 years ago. More of a sightseeing than shopping.

This is the shopping center my mom used to go to 40 years ago when she lived near Prague. She was so happy to see it though it changed a lot. Near entrance there is a kiosk with beautiful flowers and other kiosk with amazing cakes and ice cream. Also on the basement level there is Lidl. It has some other stores for clothes and accessories.

Old shopping mall which used to have a great name during the communist era. Every Czech citizen knew the name. Today it's full of various crazy small shops and stands with the Lidl supermarket in the basement, and the Rozvařilovi canteen whose name was popular during the communist era.

The top floor is a one coin shop, most of them are sold with 10 kc. Even a half dozen beers are also 10kc. But if you look carefully, these merchandise's date are all expired. I am very curious why these goods can be sold in the market.
