Absolutely amazing place with top tier service, 10/10 food, garden/exteriors and L'Occitane based wellness. Great place to visit, everything was on absolute levels, even for the most demanding customers (0,1% would find minor issues). Would visit every time. Thanks for the possibility for staying in this place.

Very nice chateau / hotel with my only point being the dinner is far too expensive and limited. They already have you there paying top $ I think it's wrong to then charge soo much for food and drinks in the evening.

Beautiful and spacious rooms with lots of windows to view the beautiful grounds. The staff was excellent. Our rate entitled us to use their Mercedes to ride around the countryside which is beautiful. The food was excellent as was the service. The staff was very helpful and responded to all requests. The old growth tress in the back provide a wonderful setting for and after dinner stroll. Highly recommend.

Fabulous hotel nestled in the lap of nature. Since there are only 8 rooms in the hotel, service is amazing. However it is secluded and not much to do other than enjoying the hotel itself. Recommended for couples.

We have had an amazing time there. Beautiful place, everything super clean and the staff always happy to help. Nice spa, not very big, but also not crowdy, so ideal for us and for anyone who wants to relax. The breakfast was delicious, the dinner was good but not amazing.

Arriving at the gates of the chateau you may be mistaken for thinking that you have been transported to the land of fairytales. The grandeur of this castle takes hold of you from the moment you arrived to when you finally have to leave.ROOMSWe stayed in the presidential suite, room 10. My first thought walking in was the sheer size it's truly massive 2x the size of my whole apartment. The living area with its ceiling frescos was a luxury touch that can only be found in places of this quality. The bed was super comfy & they even offer a pillow menu. The bathroom of this room was by far the most spectacular element of the room, truly the largest & most beautiful bathroom that I have ever seen with its double basins & freestanding bath with views out to the garden.COMMON AREASInside the castle, there are multiple area’s to sit & read a book or have a drink with friends & family. The castle is surrounded by an old English garden, a beautiful setting in the summer for a picnic. The smell of the flora & sound of the birds was hypnotic.SERVICESFrom the free Mercedes convertible car rental to the L’Occitane spa. Wellness & relaxation is a key feature of the hotel. With its pool, gym, sauna & steam rooms all included it was a great way to get away from the trouble of the modern world. They also have a full range of massages that are done with natural ingredients.RESTAURANTA beautiful place with painted frescos we managed to eat here one evening & the food was spectacular, I would defiantly recommend the duck. The complimentary breakfast is served here. I have to say that this was the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. It is all à la cart, order what you like they have an amazing array of local produce it was one of the highlights of the day. Ask to sit outside if it's sunny.LOCATIONJust over an hour away from Prague in a small village it's the perfect weekend getaway. A lot of interesting town & villages in the local area to explore in the convertible.

Absolutely superb! Wonderful accommodation in a quiet part of Vysocina region. Situated in a former castle/chateau, renovated in a very nice style. Spa by L'Occitane is perfect, sauna (Finnish, herb, infra, steam), whirlpool, swimming pool. Make sure to try Silencarium! It is an oasis of calm. Chateau Heralec is worth the price, great place for relaxation, perfect beds, rooms very generous in space, amazing service, stylish cuisine, wide variety of wines. We have been there twice already and will surely visit again!

Everything is fine here as it often happens with a boutique hotel in a middle of nowhere

First of all, this is a lovely hotel with dedicated staff. I do think there is a room for improvement though, hence the 4/5 rating. The property is beautiful and very well kept. Guests can relax in their garden (they have hammocks!), spa, restaurant, terrasse, library etc. They welcome you with a complimentary drink and a rose which itself is very special. I don't think I have ever gotten a flower in any other hotel. The rooms are generously sized and they have apartments too if your budget allows it. Selection of loose tea, complimentary pralines, honey and also dried lemon pieces (what a lovely detail) can be found in the room together with fresh apples. However, no coffemaker, only instant coffee and basic kettle ruin the impression to some degree. I was amazed that they provide kids sized bathrobes (in different little sizes) as well as slippers for the children. I have not seen that anywhere. The pool is big enough for swimming and the water was warm. They also have steam and several types of sauna. However, there is no changing room with showers in the wellness area, just a tiny locker room down the hall. At the pool toilet and no door single shower is located and this is where it gets weird. I would assume every decent person will shower after they had been to toilet before entering the pool. There is no way how to do it discreetly if there are people at the pool though. I am pretty sure the naked person can be seen from certain angles / parts of wellness. To have a screen door installed that would also indicate if the shower cabin is occupied or not sounds like a no brainer. The hot tub (30 min complimentary) is pretty aged and the jets barely work. I am not the first one mentioning this in a review but it seems this is on the management's priority list somewhere at the bottom. I would had liked a bit more light at the sauna area. There is a list of rules but you can't read those because how dark it is. Another thing I did not like about the wellness is that you are not allowed to wear rubber flip flops or any other pool shoes behind the door. I might be a bit of a germophobe but I was uncomfortable walking barefoot where others did including the shower or toilet. The idea is that dirt might get from the hall to the wellness area. As the receptionist walks barefoot in both areas, this is plain theory. Breakfast was great as one would expect in a 5 star hotel and the fact it was served in the privacy of my room for no surcharge was very much appreciated. As for the dinner, the food was ok but not memorable. It also took a while to be noticed by the staff even though there were hardly any other guests at the restaurant at that time. Towels did not impress me. I prefer large and fluffy. Minibar could had included more healthy options such as smoothie or sugar-less bars and biscuits. At the check out I was asked to make a small donation towards the local elementary school. I found that weird and inappropriate. As a hotel guest you are already supporting the village by paying the obligatory municipality fees. If the hotel wants to support their local community beyond that, they can do it directly without trying to make guests feel guilty if they refuse. Also, if they really want to support kids in a meaningful way, I suggest contributing towards autism education in this country. We are decades behind the West when it comes to the special needs schools. As you can probably say, it touched the raw nerve but I won't keep rambling :). A few small biscuits were given at the check out as a gift. I very much enjoyed my stay at Heralec.

Absolutely top experience. There is not a single aspect one could complain about. The receptionist came to invite us to the entrance with a smile (even though we arrived shortly before 10pm). The castle's exteriors and interiors were very sensitively restored and decorated. The rooms have ... everything. I was fascinated by a bowl with fresh fruits. Probably the best apples I have ever had. The restaurant offers marvelous dishes from the Czech cuisine mostly from local resources.I cant recommend the place enough.
