Betlémská kaple
An important historical landmark in Prague Old TownThis was the site of a large chapel from the High Middle Ages were the gospel was to be preached in Czech. Jan Hus preached from here and it was here that the burgeoning Hussite movement began to take root in the Czech lands. After the burning of Hus by the emperor and the Hussite Wars, the chapel continued to be used by the Hussites, until the Thirty Years War, when it was taken over by the Jesuits. It subsequently fell into disrepair and was allowed to be demolished, but it was reconstructed under the Communists, who saw Hus as an early champion of the proletariat. The hall has been well reconstructed and there are guides and interpretative materials to allow one to see the importance of this hall in the history of Prague and the wider world.

Jan Hus preached there, my wife graduated there, and tonight there was an excellent concert for cancer with the Klansky family performing Dvorak. So good!

Great place to visit with kids. Lady that makes the glass animals while you watch was phenomenal.

Betlémská kaple
Visiting Bethlehem Chapel and learning more about the life of John Hus was a really rewarding experience and memorable piece of my trip to the Czech Republic. In addition to viewing the sanctuary area, you can also go upstairs to see his old office/living quarters, and learn more about the church's history and his impact on modern-day Christianity. Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area!

Betlémská kaple
Amazing experience in the place which such a powerful history. Very well preserved and reconstructed together with interesting exposition mainly consisting of the boards with historical overview of Hus himself (his house is still preserved at the place) and the chapel.

Betlémská kaple
While this isn't the original chapel, it's an incredibly important site where Jan Huus preached from the Bible.Full of great reformation history and significance.A quiet haven in this busy city.Warm welcome from the host of the chapel.

Beautiful place but very very expensive and just a small portion. We paid 25 euro for this dish!!!

Betlémská kaple
One of the most original not that famous buildings in Prague. It’s used for graduation ceremonies, where the chapel feels like a very appropriate and practical place.

Betlémská kaple
The interior is from when the church was rebuilt in the 1950s. But the upstairs has a great timeline of Jan Hus and Bethlehem Chapel.
