First time I saw it I thought creepy

For those of you who would like a moment's peace and inspiration, I can highly recommend the Statue of Harmony.Not far from the hustle and bustle of Prague old town stands the statue. It is ideally located in a peaceful area near the Museum Kampa. The Statue is located opposite Park Legií on Shooters Island, but it looks in the direction of the centre of the old town. To get there from the old town, cross the Charlie Bridge and, before you get to the end, take the steps down on your left and walk around the Kampa museum to the Statue of Harmony.It can get very busy and almost frenetic in the old town and visiting the Statue of Harmony can be a most welcome escape. But I wasn't looking for an escape but to go and have a recharge.For me, visiting the statue was a most profound experience, like being with my dearest old friend I'd not seen in some time. I spent three days in Prague and, while I enjoyed it all, this was my absolute highlight. Although, it's not easy to explain to you why.I had already visited the statue on my first morning in Prague, while out for a run (see photo) but both times I stood in front of the Statue and felt a profound sense of peace. It was such a wonderful, calm feeling, I didn't want to leave. I sat at its feet for a while too, just taking in the peaceful ambience, and simply being.There are benches behind the Statue if you would like to sit down in its presence.

After moving thousands of miles when you see a sculpture depicting one of your own people, the mind fills with joy. This statue is of Sri Chinmoy Kumar Ghosh, a Bengali. He later on become the spiritual guru and moved to USA, but in dress and possibly in his behaviour he was a Bengali. It is very interesting to note that the only two Indians whose sculptures are in Prague are of two Bengali. Besides Sri Chinmoy, the other one is of Rabindranath Thakur.

Beautiful place to take a minute and Thank the city of Praha for all the magic it shares with the people it touches. Great spot for a mediation by the edge of the water while overlooking the chaos of Charles Bridge. Especially beautiful and quiet in the morning as the sunrises. We can't wait to be reunited with the city once more.

Nicely placed statue. Goes well with the surrounding and makes a good photo taking spot. Looks very peaceful and there are a lot of benches around so you can sit there and enjoy the beautiful view.

I am visiting this place to relax. It is funny, but the statue is kind of alive vibration. I could see one old lady possibly visits it too and she like to clean around. I didn't like it at the beginning, because statues are standing on platforms. But that is what I like on this one. Recently some religious fanatics atacked this statue of Sri Chinmoy (well no surprise there) saying that another statue of him was removed in US. Well when I read and sourced radiculous sources, I found that american statue was never there to be removed.

Not a whole lot to see, but the statue is there and it does seem to be peaceful.

There’s not much to rate of the actual statue but it’s a nice little area. Peaceful and reflective. I’d like to go back to the area, hidden just behind the museum.

Nicely placed statue. Near the river but close to trees. Very harmonious.
