I got my degree in MIAS (economics). And I’ll write about a program in the local language. I can say that comparing to the other universities, the degree syllabus in MIAS is broader. It’s not just economics and numbers, it’s also psychology, project management, critical thinking. In the 2nd course you’ll choose your specialization (accounting, IT, marketing or HR) and you’ll continue study it deeper in the 3rd course. Also, in the 3rd year you’ll study half in czech and half in English.MIAS also offers classes of other foreign languages: French, German, Spanish, Russian, depends on how advanced your level is.Some professors in MIAS are super nice and some are super evil and vengeful. Depends on your luck.Unfortunately, people say MIAS is not a faculty and it’s easy. But I disagree, when it comes to exams, it’s hell and you’ll struggle. It’s also quite hard to combine school and work. What I dislike in MIAS is 1. that you can’t build your schedule, idk why but the student office does it for us.2. Also, when in the beginning of the semester you choose nonobligatory subjects, you must wake up at 7am to add it, otherwise your place will be taken. It would be more fair if better students had privileges in selecting. Once it happened that at 7:15 all the best subjects were taken by those students which woke up earlier.3. The scholarship is tiny and doesn’t motivate to do better.4. The student office became much worse. No one wants to interact with the coordinator, she barely replies to our emails or does it in such a way that you don’t want to bother her again and listen to how stupid you are.5. If you aren’t gonna study in English language, the environment won’t be international or somewhat friendly to foreigners. Students don’t even like foreign professors.6. Professors don’t open your diploma. They read 2 first and 2 last pages and write a review that has nothing to do with the content. You get marks absolutely randomly. Also if your opponent doesn’t like your professor, he will give you a bad mark just because of their interpersonal conflicts.7. There are no team building activities or trips. You will have hard times with getting to know your classmates8. Some exams have nothing to do with the class syllabus. Once I literally learned by heart the whole notebook but it didn’t help. It turned out that students which got the best marks cheated. Students who studied hard did not pass. This very thing I hate the most. And I don’t understand why administration doesn’t control it.What I absolutely like is 1. Erasmus, the international office is very helpful and friendly.2. Nearby dormitories are very nice and modern.3. No corruption whatsoever, very equal and respectful environment when it comes to exams4. CTU diploma is considered at a labor market as a prestigious diploma (but if you’re lazy and unmotivated, diploma itself won’t help you).5. CIPS CTU offers great help if you face any problems during your study. Women that work there are invaluableI give MIAS 4/5 because for BBA it’s still the best available option in Prague. But it’s not perfect. And I’m not willing to proceed there with the master degree.
