Great food and great value, big portions, wine + classic food dish was about 830 kcz for 2. Great ribs and duck, with good compliments. I was missing the classic goulash soup as a starter, and the begging for 10% tip and their upselling everything is a bit on the nose and annoying. Yes, you can recommend something that genuily fits but not always you should get bottle instead of glas etcetc is very transparant. Great outdoor area and nice furniture. Friendly staff.

If you are visiting Prague there are far better choices in terms of food, value, and service, there is no reason to visit this restaurant.This place is a great money maker for the owner, not so great for you as guest:Food is ok, but not great. Food is not as advertised, one dish supposed to come with potato pancakes - it was just flour/bread. Another dish with potato croquettes - again, just flour/bread. All to skimp on food ingredients and cost. Good for the owner, bad for you, especially if you select a dish to be with potato, not BREAD. Even worse if you have some allergies. I don’t mind too much but this is not the way you are supposed to run a restaurant.Service: during dinner it’s busy, service is slow, and the waiters are not really interested to serve. For a long running restaurant, the owner is just skimping on wait staff. Some issues: we asked for 3 wineglasses with a bottle of red. After repeated requests, we first received a glass of white wine which we didn’t order. The 3rd wineglass finally arrived after about an hour when our meal and our bottle of wine were finished. The soup came without spoon, again 3 requests and spoon came after 15 minutes, really?When explaining to head waiter (assumption), he didn’t care, and still had the courage to ask for a tip. Sure.It’s really quiet sad of a place.

Good selection of standard Czech fare whether you are looking for a full entrée or just small plates with beer. Plenty of outdoor seating. Excellent service from our waiter, Vladimir.

I recently visited Kolkovna Celnice and ordered the Svíčková accompanied by chicken wings and a Pilsner beer. Overall, my experience was average, and I have mixed opinions about the dishes I tried.The Svíčková, a Czech dish, might be enjoyable for those who appreciate hearty stews and this type of cuisine. However, it didn't surpass my expectations and I found it to be just nice, without any outstanding elements. The flavors were decent, but it didn't leave a lasting impression.The chicken wings were served with two sauces, but I was disappointed with the initial base sauce, which I found to be overly sweet for my taste. While the second sauce offered a bit of variety, it couldn't fully compensate for the excessive sweetness of the first one. I believe a better balance of flavors could have improved the overall dish.On the positive side, I must mention that the service was attentive and the ambiance was pleasant. The restaurant also offered a good selection of beers, and I particularly enjoyed the Pilsner I ordered.In conclusion, my visit was an average experience. While the Svíčková and chicken wings had their flaws, they were not terrible. However, if you're looking for exceptional Czech cuisine or outstanding chicken wings, you may want to explore other options.

This is by far one of my favorite places to visit when in Prague. Over the last 15yrs I’ve been coming to Prague this restaurant never lets me down. This is located in near the powder gate and features great Czech cuisine and great beer!I ordered the Kolkovna platter which is a large portion of meat along with three different dumplings, cabbage and sauerkraut. It is so tasty and filling along with a large pivo. Will always try to come back here for as long as it remains. The service is amazing and the environment is a like a big pub, which I love.

We stopped by at 9pm. They were able to seat us outside. The atmosphere is nice and there’s a nice view of a lively area.The food, unfortunately, was not good. My husband had soup that I think came from a can and the goulash was cold with a few chunks of fat. I tried to pick around it and get meat but it wasn’t worth the effort. There were no napkins on the table and once we were served we didn’t see the wait person again.

A casual spot for a quick lunch with nothing standing out. The food was up to expectations in the classical" Czech fare given its in a relatively international/tourist area so by no means disappointing.Their service is quick and friendly.They make a good goulash and spinach pancakes that stood out

One of our favorite spots for getting Czech food. Although this place is quite crowded around dinner time, we always got a place without a reservation and long waiting times. However, if you are looking for a quieter place, you should try to visit on a weekday around lunchtime.The service is good and food is served quite quickly.I recommend getting the 1/2 roasted duck. It comes with red cabbage, sauerkraut and two different kinds of dumplings. We also loved their lamb shank! They also have goulash and svickova - both tasted great as well.
