Disappointing. Ankali claims it's a 'gently crafted club space for open minded heads', and one of its house rules is 'Just treat others with respect regardless of origin, age, gender, sexual orientation and religion', however it seems like the doormen and security are in direct contradiction of their own rules. Their treatment of others is pretty appalling, and Ankali management should be aware that it's damaging the reputation they are trying to present. First impressions matter. Often, when people choose Ankali, they've chosen to be there based on the image presented, the lineup on the events page or listened on soundcloud and being challenged at the door about the choice to be there is disrespectful and sets a really negative tone to the evening. Professional security work isn't about thoughtless intimidation or bullying of patrons, it's about considered risk assessment and management. Luckily, we were greeted by a couple of lovely bar staff on the first bar after wading through the needlessly arrogant and confrontational attitudes with the entry process, but after waiting almost 6 years to make the most of this 'cool Berlin-style' underground club, we left feeling really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it. If you want to be comfortable to have a good time, go somewhere else. Other places just do it better.

I was expecting it to be a club where people dance to techno with a superb sound system. (Especially after paying 450czk=20€ entry in cash!)However inside it was full of people (max around their mid-twenties), who talk/shout loudly at eachother on the dancefloor (believe me, I had to change my dancefloor-place a lot) - and the sound system couldn‘t „eliminate“ all these sounds. This was a dealbreaker.Basically if there is a face control, I expect to see its effect on the crowd (a better party crowd) but this wasn’t the case.

Place is great, and the music on spot.Bad part: the bar staff gets chummy with the change when you pay cash, they give you the drinks and expect you to get tired of waiting around or do they just take for granted that the change is their tip?Stressful situation.

In my opinion best techno club in Prague,very polite people on the bar,If you you are polite and not drunk you would easily get in.Recommend coming in a small groups

great music, cool atmosphere, good crowd. everyone respected each other’s space and was really dancing, not just head nodding or exclusively grinding, which was honestly refreshing. would recommend!!

The worse dancing place I've ever been in Prague. The club is pretending to be a cool German club with face control. Seems like a doorman understands who is a techno lover and who is not. The entrance was about 20 euro for nothing. I wouldn't recommend this place to my hommies. In Prague you can find more better places then this fake.

Since 4 Years I´m totally in love with this cozy Club! The Audience & Bartenders are always nice & its super easy to get in touch with everyone. The Journey was always been worthwhile for me!

I consider Ankali and Planeta Za to be the best techno/music venue in Prague. (That I visited so far)Whenever I visit, I'm greeted by open, respectful, and friendly atmosphere created by both visitors and the staff.The music tends to be great there and enjoying it is made easier by the absence of camera flashes, because they are covered at the entrance.I'll definitely keep visiting this place :)

Waited in the queue for an hour and they didn’t let us in because the door man didn’t like our suits. (They wanted to keep it neuter they said).-Also, at the entrance, be ready for a quick quiz, they got upset we didn’t know the no names line up for the event.
