I was pointed out to Bistro In by a local, so I didn't hesitate to walk there, even though I knew it would take about 30 minutes because I had to walk the entire campus of the technical university. Bistro In is located all the way in the back where the new science buildings are located. Scientists have to go somewhere for lunch and Bistro In is a fancy alternative to the student canteen. Just like in the canteen, you walk up to the counter to get your food and take it away on a plastic tray. You can have soup (an integral part of lunch in the Czech Republic), there's a choice of three tempting dishes, and further down you can have dessert and some drinks. The food I had was delicious and healthy. I was impressed with the roasted vegetables and also the fact that Bistro In had mushroom cream today. It is peak mushroom picking season after all, so mushrooms are a seasonal ingredient. Service was fast. For where the restaurant is located and the fact that you have to serve yourself, the food is not cheap (I paid a little over 200 CZK for the whole lunch), but the price matches the quality. The only disappointment was the badly worn plate I got my meal on today.
