A place to see. A concentration camp where nazis and communists were there.. To rimember the Past. And not making mistakes again.

Great experience BUT no credit card and English isn't everywhere. Maybe try to do like the Hluboká castle where a text book is given and you have to give it back at the end of the tour.

10.1.2020 impressive museum about the persecution of political opponents by the Gottvald-Regime,might be a bit more in english, but museums guide did a perfect job and even explained me all in german....the dark impression of the camp was conserved despite the reconstruction!Should be a must-visit for anybody which speaks about chaotic" democracy and desires "strong state"!!40 CZK entrance fee are a very good investment!"

It is more a memorial, than a museum. For me it was a must. Where in Europe can you visit a real soviet gulag. Be sure to bring your geiger counter for the uranitite probes. ;-)

That was interesting to learn about totalitarian camps in Czechoslovakia. Most of the buildings are replicas but place is still the same. Very good staff.

It was originally built for German prisoners of war, but then from 1949 to 1951 it became a forced labor camp, and then - until 1961 - was used as a prison for critics of the communist system. They were forced to work in uranium mines.Communist's government managed to shoot 262 people for political reasons, the majority during the reign of Clement Gotovald.

It's difficult to put into words what happened here but the památník" managed to do it very well. The tour was great and eye opening."

Very interesting. Only thing that almost everything is explained in Tsjech and very little in English. But really impressive.
