Cheap and cheerful. Is it the best food I've ever had? No. But it is very reasonably priced and gives an authentic taste of Czech food. The atmosphere is very much basic canteen and everything is no-frills. I enjoyed some dishes more than others, the fried Gouda being a particular highlight, but they were all roughly around 150CZK. Desserts are also available as are some side items. We visited twice during our visit to Prague, mostly to keep the costs of our trip down.

Affordable prices, great restaurant to try local Czech cuisine. It is usually super full so it might be difficult to find a table to sit. We have visited restaurant several times during our trip. We really liked the food, beer and environment. I’d definitely recommend it.

This is my third visit to this place. The food is enjoyable, and the beer is truly outstanding. It offers an authentic Czech experience in the heart of the old city. The prices are reasonable, and the service is relatively fast, depending on the queue. While most of the staff may come across as curt and have limited English proficiency, there are a few friendly individuals among them. However, it's important to note that a few staff members can be exceptionally unfriendly. Nonetheless, I would still recommend giving it a try.

havelská koruna is a canteen style czech restaurant located in old town. it’s a no-frills spot to try a lot of different traditional czech food for some of the lowest prices in the area. in my opinion though, you’re getting what you pay forlines vary but when we went for dinner there was only a short queue. grab a tray, look at the menu (pictures and english) and take a seat to eat. bring your ticket to the exit in order to pay when you leave.i got the half portion (~70czk) of the goulash with bread dumplings (they charged 18czk. the half portion is good if you’re not hungry but the amount of beef is very small and the dish is mainly sauce. i found it to be too salty for me. the bread dumplings were standard.my mom got the #1 dish, the steak with cream sauce and bread dumplings. the cream sauce is quite sweet which i wasn’t expecting and wasn’t really my preference. the steak doesn’t taste like steak, more like regular meat. good portion size for normal order.overall it’s a good place to try czech dishes low risk because it is inexpensive. however, i thought the food tasted so so (maybe i just didn’t like the dishes we ordered though). it would be good to come with friends and split a bunch of dishes. they also have a dessert counter too

For a group of four travellers wanting to sample the local cuisine but with various dietary needs, the build your own plate approach" coupled with extremely reasonable prices and friendly atmosphere was perfect. The beef with dill sauce was amazing. Seriously. I think the dill sauce may be the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. I want it again. Now.The big hunk of fried Gouda was also very good, but I mean, that sort of goes without saying.It's a cafeteria, so service is sort of a nonsequitor. The employees were all very helpful while going through the line, though. No issues with anyone there!

Food was great. We came here 2 days in a row and ordered the same thing. The food was delicious, the Hungarian goulash with dumplings was sensational, and the fruit dumplings were the same. Huge traffic during lunch hours, but nevertheless worth waiting or coming a little later

Based on the rest of the reviews, i guess there's nothing for me to add about the quality of food there, because i'm no expert in new cuisine i try.If you are not a fan of meet in general, this dish might be heavy for you. I like meet but the taste of the gravy was too much. Also this dish is absolutely meant to be eaten during cold winters i guess.So that was a no for me.The beer was ok,The prices are fair in this place.
