Elldus Resort

We went out of our way to stay at this place and it was well worth it. The ski snowboard option in the winter was an excellent bonus. The spa is fantastic, the kids club was lots of fun and the apartments were very comfortable. We enjoyed having the extra space, the gym option and my husband enjoyed a massage special package. We love familihotels like this place. You have to walk from your apartment tower to the main building but we didn't mind. It was nice to park the car and go on foot throughout our stay.

Nice resort quite close to slopes. The Spa is really gorgeous, while the apartments are a bit old-fashioned. It was a bit tricky to go to the apartment from the reception. There is no lift in the apartment building so prepare yourself if you have heavy luggage. In addition to park your car you need to fight a bit if you want to keep it close to your building. This can be annoying if, like my case, there is 1m of snow and - 20C.We had dinner in a sort of self service specifically made for families. Although it makes you feel a bit in quarantine, for the kids that's the best solution, they could play a bit, help themselves with food and we had good time.At the end I think it's a bit too expensive for what you get, but still I recommend it.

Great Spa, even with a kid spa.Rooms are okay but aged.Very kid friendly environment, providing babysitting and a cool playroom.

Great resort with a lot of fun and activities for kids. Aparments are large, clean and fully equipped. Staff at reception don't speak english at all only german. Note the one day entrance to pool is starting first day after check in. What means 15PM till 22PM only. Next day is 22 EUR adult/15 kids.This information is missing everywhere and makes disappointed

Hotel is nicely located, out of the city but not far to center of it where for examples two stores are located. Rooms - in fact apartments/flats offering plenty of space and are quite well equipted. Reception and restaurant were brackasts are served are in separate building. Brackfasts are really good. SPA is very nice. Offering selection of saunas, small swiming pool and beautiful quite room. Unfortunatelly only one enterance is included, nexts are extra paid.

What a gem!We stayed over New Years 2014/15 with a 5 and a 2 year old in a Fips" apartment. It's an absolutely fantastic family resort

It was an excellent experience for me and the kids.

First of all, we had a nice stay and are considering to return. I try to rate locations on an average of 3 stars for being OK, all things considered, and only go higher than that if something stood out.This location is great for families with several (young) children. The childcare that is provided enables parents to have some alone time and relax as well.A few things that need improvement in order to justify the prices they charge and that would have prompted me to give a higher rating (most of these are details and more of interest for the owner, not potential guests):Food:- food quality is as you may expect in family friendly buffets, most of it is probably bought externally and defrosted, vegetables tend to be overcooked, meat is generally dry, desserts don't have a nice texture- there are few vegetarian options unless you want to eat salad and different forms of potatoes every day+ noteworthy is the good ice cream and the cheese platter which has a nice variety (not every day though)Spa:- the pool is too small, during rush hour you can barely move 1m- the 90° sauna barely reached 70° when I used it- you only get one towel and a bathrobe as spa-kit, which is too little if you want to use the sauna- the amount of avaiable massage professionals is too limited, we couldn't book the mother-daughter session- there is only one sports class a day- spa and sports room should be open for more hours, even with the children taken care off during the day it would give a bit more flexibility for the own scheduleInformation:- the Gastfreund app is a good idea, but either the app is slow or the Wifi can't handle it's traffic, cause its sites load extremely slowly or not at app (Android Pixel 5)- the reception can't tell you much about the child care, there are two separate numbers for thatCheckout:- when you book a flat with kids toys, there is a checklist to confirm the completeness, which in turn is fine again by housekeeping upon leaving. That process is a bit bothersome, since it requires additional steps for just a part of the inventory. I may as well steal plates and cups, the hotel would still have to get in touch and prove it. So I think a process to check the inventory after checkout would be sufficient and save staff and guests a lot of hassle.

First class family friendly resort in the Erzgebirge mountains on the German Czech border. Absolutely great cuisine.

No snow here as I write, ski slopes are usable as they have artificial snow on them. Last year was fantastic with plenty of snow and glorious sunshine.Plenty to do in the surrounding area, a steam train ride fichtelbergsbahn up the mountain is a must. The apartments are adequate to say the least. In ours the cooking facilities are poor, two hot plates no oven, and it's 2020, no microwave. You have to be a culinary genius to produce a decent healthy meal. The lighting is a weired setup, if you want to read, one person has to sit on the bed /sofa, the other has to sit at the table.Really think for the cost of the holiday, that actually gets more expensive every year, a revamp of the accommodation is overdue.
