Cihelny Golf & Wellness Resort Karlovy Vary by Axxos Hotels

Beautiful place, nice hotel and spa, but the experience totally ruined by the service and really unsatisfying restaurant. The service was slow (there were only 2 occupied tables in the whole restaurant), forgot parts of the orders, unable to at least greet us on arrival, nor smile, continuously complying how tired they are and how many hour they have to work (I can understand that, but the guest are not the right targets to focus their complaint on..). The price and quality of the food (especially the dinner menu) was a total mismatch. It appeared to me that the cook was not really a cook, but a confectioner - the desserts were quite good (at least my friends told me so, I had not had a chance to try because on the second night when I was there with them, the cook left so early that few minutes after 9pm we were refused with our dessert order). With steaks you could not choose how well you wanted it and they were all almost blue. Pulled beef was in fact a quicky grilled beef cut by knife to pieces. Salmon steak in pistachio crust was a salmon without any crust. Beef tartar was probably the biggest surprise - pure raw beef meet without anything - no spice, no salt, no eggs, no sauce...literally nothing = no taste; served with some white cream and strawberries. And for all that, the prices were pretty high. If anybody responsible reads this - it is not my aim only to release personal disappointment. I really liked the place, the spa, the golf course, and want to visit you again in the future. The insufficiently trained staff and under-average performing chef is making you loose the potential returning or frequent customers and money.

In times after the covid lockdowns the personnel needs to give their best to make the visitors not only to spend but to come again and recommend the hotel, they were indifferent. We asked for one damn pillow, never came, the arrangement of the massage part of the package, an epic fail by accusing each other for the mistake. Even between reception and restaurant probably they are indifferent between them as we had, us to arrange again our dinner which was part of the package. Food? from the microwave. Hospitality? a big zero.

Great experience. Really nice room with beautiful forest view, good restaurant with good selection of well prepared food, thoughtful, friendly and professional staff. Power outage, caused by a massive wind storm, was handled by the staff with really impressive approach. The one missing star is for crazy expensive (almost 3 times the normal price) scotch at the bar.

I visited only SPA, I did not live there.Good price and inner appearance, I felt comfortable inside! However, saunas temperature were generaly low (50-70 Celsius degree in the fnnish sauna), except the steam sauna, where hot steam went only to up, while feet felt cold. I would not return back again.

I really enjoyed staying at the Golf and Spa Resort Cihelny! It was quite difficult to find our way, since there were not enough signs... but once we arrived, it was pure relaxation! The price is exactly good for what you get. It's modern and clean. The spa was wonderful and the restaurant and its menu were delicious! I recommend the hotel to family and friends.

New, clean and beautiful decorated rooms. Breakfast and wellness included in the price. Staff is friendly- doesn't speak much English but will do whats necessary to communicate. Restaurant is very tasteful decorated and a great place for a drink or meal. Great place to stay no matter if you are a golfer or leisure tourist. I can highly recommend this place.

We had a great time. The spa is amazing (there are 4 saunas and a large rest area), swimming pool with a whirlpool and massages available.One of my friends overslept for breakfast and was still served eggs and vegetables which was greatly appreciated.Staff was lovely and helpful, rooms spacious yet cozy.The place was refurbrished a few years ago and they did a great job.

Very nice located, clean and good kitchen. If you wanna get relaxed I can recommend. Some SPA and Wellness facilities were not operating in the morning.

In rooms no coffee, tea or water (except water in minibar for $$). Bed is comfy, sleep was good.Restaurant food is tasty. Parking is good.15 -17 minutes drive from Karlovy Vary center.Staff is upbeat, polite and positive:)

Great:- The room was nicely done, we were very happy with that. Clean, modern, but still cozy. I would come back for that!- The sauna + pool was beautiful, we really enjoyed the view there- The fireplace is amazing- The person that helped us at the reception was nice and welcoming.Improve:- We overslept for breakfast (our fault), but we really needed to push for a solution. If something could still be arranged; like some yoghurt/fruit. In the end we received it - which was nice. But the staff did make us feel like we messed up and, at first, they were not willing to come with a solution. Later, I saw the staff heavily arguing with one of the guests over the same matter. It's super easy to offer a late guest at least something (from the fridge, so no need to prepare), and it will make guests feel you've done them a favour. It will increase your satisfaction level, for sure!- I noticed the waiters arguing while we were present. My Czech is not great, but I would do this behind closed doors and not in front of the guests.- You can't enter your room after check out time 11.00. I think it would be best to provide a 15 min margin. So if you are a little bit late or forget something, you can still enter the room. When you find the room locked at 11.03 it could give you an unwelcoming feeling. Like you are being kicked out as a guest. Again, small improvement, big result!
