Well worth visiting and good value. Loved the sarcastically written information boards - made me laugh out loud. On the other hand the harsh reality of Communist rule and the suffering of the people is totally sobering. The video of police brutality against innocent people desperately seeking freedom was an awful reminder of idealism gone wrong. Freedom, peace and acceptance of differences must always prevail. Kids go free.

As mentioned by others, the exhibits are mainly long blocks of texts. There are collections of personal stories in video/audio format, but the editing at times made them more personal and less educational - which may be a good thing! I will say, best t-shirts ever with sarcasm and sly messaging that makes them true gems.

I enjoyed my visit here as a student of Communist history and learnt a lot. However, the exhibition features a lot of long texts to read and some pretty macabre elements. I can confirm that this is not a neutral retelling of history - the use of the word 'nightmare' at the entrance to the exhibition pretty much sums up the anti-Communist sentiment. This is not a child-friendly museum, and is not well-suited to visitors wanting a quick and easy walk-through. However, it is incredibly informative and worth a visit if you're looking for a deep dive into the historical culture of today's Czech Republic.

Overall very educational facility that teaches about communism from a Czech perspective. There is also some brief information about WWII as well. However, I felt like there were not enough physical objects from the Soviet era and most of the exhibits were just text on a wall about information I could have found online…

It is a good place to check out and doesn't take a lot of time if you have a lot you want to see in Prague. The exhibits are designed well. You get a sense of the impacts that communism had on the lives of every day people. Children should see this museum to see that communism is horrible and a bad idea.

Great museum which covers both the history of communism as well as the effect it had over the decades in Prague. I felt this museum laid out the timeline in such a way that it made the infomation very digestable. It roughly took an hour to an hour and a half to go around. The cafe was closed/empty when we visited which was a shame. There is a shop however it's more on the pricer side.Would I recommend a visit? Yes, as I felt that it added in a lot of details that the other museums in Prague missed. Especially with the relating video footage/pictures of the events. The diarama's also added additional authentcity.

What an experience to go back in time and read the text and time line and how surprest the people where the CCCP (iron curtain) just had their way and crushed every day common family and put them to hard work 14-16 hours a day 6 days a week.its been a delight spending a long weekend in Prague amazing weather it was great to cool down inside the museum of communism it was well set out on several floors with a cafe and gift shop all with air conditioning I mustn't forget the little film show enough room for about 20 - 30 people. So if you're stuck for something to do if the weather looks dodgy like for us and not enough time to to much and you like history give it a go also the under ground is right there

We were a group of American college students and two professors, and we had Pavel as a guide. It was fascinating to hear a first person perspective of living under communism in Prague. I loved him as a guide: he made our visit much more enlightening.

The museum concentrates on wall displays. Threre are not many physical exhibits - grand majority of the display is just text and pictures on the walls. Moreover, the museum is rather small and not very interesting if you already know something about history of communism in general, but I would recommend it to people who do not know much about it.
