La Bouchée
unfortunately I was fairly disappointed with the visit. nothing really bad to mention, however it is just overpriced for what you get. the starters were prepared in advance, meat (medium rare t-bone) was not tender as rather unevenly cooked, even though the taste was good. the steak cost us about 900 czk abd one would expect not only perfect cooking but as well beautiful presentation for such a price. to be fair though, wine was ok same as service. would not come back, simply because i was expecting so much more from a restaurant which is considered to be fine dining.p.s. overall i have the impression that the former La Bouchée location (on Udolni street) was just much higher in meal quality based of the reviews.

Very nice cozy place. We've been a couple of times, food hasn't disappointed us at all and the service is always great! Would recommend it to everyone!

Nice wine place right at Jakub's square. I went to the place with my friend and had few glasses. I liked the chilled atmosphere outside. Almost like sitting somewhere by the sea.Be aware of slightly higher prices. You will pay for both great service and food quality.

We ate at the restaurant Saturday night. We really enjoyed it and would certainly return. It was all round a get experience. We were fortunate that it was a warm evening, so dining outside in the beautiful square added an extra special element. The food, wine and service were excellent. You can tell the quality of the meat. It was exceptional. We shared a tapas, followed by a T-bone steak, there was plenty for two and it is perfectly cooked and served. The service was top class, the waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. Another treat was the ability to have the majority of the wines by the glass. The waiter let us try the wines before deciding so we got to sample wines we would never otherwise try.It is rare to find a restaurant that has a direct supply chain for their produce, cares and knows where the food comes from.Highly recommend if you want really good quality and a charming experience, for a full slap up treat or a bite of tapes and glass of wine.

Restaurant location is great and design is nice and cozy. Based on one visit - food is ok, but for the price you get charged expectations are not fulfilled. We shared a T-bone steak, there was plenty for two, however it was poorly prepared. I expected better quality of the food. Wine and service were very good.

La Bouchée
The service was average at best (the waiter couldn’t recommend any wine, forgot to bring bread, didn’t tell us they don’t accept credit cards). The pork fillet was undercooked. This kind of mistakes would be acceptable at a much cheaper restaurant. Here it really spoils the taste.

La Bouchée
This review is based on the 5-course menu de dégustation. The style of La Bouchée I would describe as a purist/minimalist version of French rural cuisine, focused on the product and with no pretension to gourmandise. The quality of the dishes is thus entirely contingent upon product quality and perfect preparation, spices and herbs are notably absent. The approach worked nicely in the first course of cold slices of roasted duck with dots of mango-pepper sauce and lightly dressed lettuce leaves. Very gentle accents added by the fruity-peppery sauce enhanced the excellent flavors and textures of the first rate duck, the lettuce was almost in the way of the flavor and was better taken with the accompanying self-baked white bread of a chewy-soft nature and little flavor. The spinach soup did not stand so well on its own, somewhat disappointing in its blandness. Heree some spice - nutmeg and pink pepper? - as well as a contrasting texture (flavored croutons, deep-fried potato slices, smoked salt) would have added dimensionality. The third course's monkfish was well prepared and tasty, more cooked than would be typical in hip restaurants further west, but no complaints. The potato puree was bland, not a richly flavored variety at bat here and the attempted contrast with dessicated black olives wasn't too convincing. The contrast between meat/fish and vegetables was amplified in the next course, veal stew. Excellent meat, one of three pieces too dry, the others better though perhaps deserving a bit more moisture, yet of very good quality and taste. The vegetables once again bland, unspiced and undercooked, an approach that seems outdatetd at this point, but then I never understood this fetish but as an overzealous reaction of new food elites to boiled-to-death cooking traumas of post-WWII/English and perhaps also socialist pasts. The red velvet cake was forgettable but for the pretty color. In sum, mediocre to decent bistro niveau with dire need of a well-stocked herb garden. Within a Czech context the prices are steep. Very friendly young service, nice view into the kitchen and the recommended 2015 Veltline zelene by Klobasá was an excellent specimen, while the oaked Chardonnay was OK, but forgettable.
