Great castle to visit on the weekend. Had fun with the family. It's also a pet friendly park.

I have visited several castles throughout Europe and this castle was probably one of the best experiences. The tour is given in Czech however when you purchase your tickets they give you an English guide to follow along. The rooms inside the castle are absolutely stunning and well preserved. Wondering through the different rooms is definitely an experience one should have if you were in the region.

Bouzov Castle makes for some great photos but if you only speak English, you won't get much help! On purchasing our tickets, we were told there was an English guide but the tour was in Czech only and we were given a photo copy of an English booklet. As there is no self guided option it makes it difficult for English speaking tourists. There is no English signs around the castle explaining what things are. It was a shame as the experience could have been much better.

Very nice castle with unique architecture. The history of the castle is also very fascinating. The guide was very informative (it was sin Czech, English you have to book in advance). There are guided tours every 15-20 minutes on a busy day.

Beautiful renewed medieval castle. Featured in many Czech fairy tales movies. Today's castle was rebuilt in the beginning of 20th century.

Bouzov, one of the most visited castles in the Czech Republic, is located just about 21 kilometres (13 miles) west of Litovel and 30 km (18 miles) northwest of Olomouc, in Moravia, Czech Republic.The castle was initially constructed as a Gothic stronghold in the early 14th century (was first mentioned in 1317). In the 15th century, fortifications were enlarged and strengthened, and in the 16th and 17th centuries the castle was gradually converted into a residential site.It was rebuilt in the Romantic style by the Habsburg Archduke Eugene into a summer seat of the Teutonic Knights at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. The castle is said to be the birthplace of the Czech King George of Podebrady.It is a perfect example of a medieval castle with an eight-storey watchtower, 58 metres (190 feet) high, dominates the complex. The buildings are grouped around it in the form of a horseshoe and the castle is enhanced by a number of towers, and among other things, bastions, battlements, oriel windows and loopholes. The two long bridges, ending with a short drawbridge, span the deep dry moat around the castle. The knights' hall, armoury, which is in one of the few original rooms with preserved Gothic vaulting, bedrooms of the knights and a neo-gothic chapel with its Gothic altar and tombs occupy the central part of the castle. The valuable furniture comes from the private collection of Eugen von Habsburg and the collection of the Order of the Teutonic Knights.Since 1999 Bouzov castle has been a national monument.There are several guided tours available, and the classic route has been prepared for you. Very nice , interesting

Very beautiful castle which is also still fully equipped. I appreciate multiple tour circuits to choose from. Tour guide was very friendly and also added a few interesting curiosities. I also recommend visiting Areál historické zábavy near the castle where you can learn about historic weapons, how to operate them, see the Trojan horse and even go inside.
