Holiday Inn Prague

It is a decent hotel. The rooms were clean and to me the place was very convenient as it was next to the Congress center where I had to be. The employees were generally polite but not really accommodating. At least some of them were not. The food was ok, nothing special though. The decoration was far from what I would have liked, very dark, dull and boring in the rooms. Lobby was much nicer and bright.As far as my complaints. I asked for a map of the city, which all hotels should have for their guests. After waiting for about 10 minutes they said they don't have one. Nobody offered to give me directions to where I wanted to go.One night in the room, water started to drip from the ceiling to the floor. Made a lot of noise and kept me up. When I let the reception people know, they said they will send someone to fix it and they did. Never the less, no one apologised for what happened which I believe is kind of rude.Last but not least. I ordered food in the room twice. It was overpriced, which I did expect so it's ok. What I think was outrageous is the fact that they charge about 6 euros just to bring you your food in the room. I 've gone around the world and stayed in so many hotels. That has never happened to me before. I think it is really petty and very wrong.

The Hotel was all in all ok, as you expect some quality from a 4 Star Hotel. However, there was a big renovation of the reception which was not super convenient and not mentioned anywhere. The guidance from the parking could be better. The staff is friendly and breakfast was very good. The rooms are very nice but windows can't be open.The location is not very good when you are a tourist and want to walk. In front of the hotel are various big streets and parking so it's hard to cross and orientate.
