I am the great grand son of Wenzel Turba, the man who once ordered to build this chapel right opposite his farm approx. 120 years ago. That time, and until 1947, the village around the lake has been a German community. I visited this village in 1991. All exactly as my grandma told me so often about 'her village' with the name 'Untergodrisch'. A place where time did not move since 1947. I'm wondering, the place is so close to the beautiful town with the German name 'Marienbad', and no development since more than 70 years. However, I believe it is a beautiful village, and visiting Dolny Jadruz is indeed a journey 70 years back into the 1940s for those who come from the cities in the West. Time does not complete stand still, they did some repair and had some fresh colour for my great grand father's chapel just some years ago. Appreciated....
