Avoid at all cost!You will be charged for things you didn't order and they will add charges which they don't tell you of.Horrible customer service from the MANAGEMENT, not the waitresses.I am still sitting here, I asked waitress if I could speak to a manager, and she came back to tell me the manager will not speak to me, and I have to pay the bill as it is - LEARN HOW TO DO YOUR JOB OR DON'T WORK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE, BECAUSE THAT'S WHO MAKES YOUR SALARY, CUSTOMERS.My girlfriend ordered a pork neck, which was suggested with baby potatoes(included), we asked if she can have chips INSTEAD, but we were charged for them extra when the bill came.They brought a basket of bread which we did not touch but we were also charged for it, and for using Tabasco sauce from the stand which they left on the table.The food is not that good(at least what we ordered), so much oil in the soup I had to just leave it. The dumplings were not thoroughly cooked, and my girlfriends pork steak was done rare/medium rare (PORK!?).If you want to pay for what you ordered and for what you ate, go somewhere else.

Can't complain about the service but just wanting a beer and soft drink after a hot walk, we sat without caring too much about the price. It cost £8 with a tip which are UK prices. Of course we now know better and will not go again on our holiday.

Tried flat white and espresso, it was ok but expensive. I was surprised by the waiters attitude which forced us to leave tips.

tl;dr Tourist trap with hidden fees.Food was at least mediocre, and one of bread dumplings was hard as rock. Extra charge for dumplings which are part of the dish. Also 50 kc for each person for bread and on the table. Unreasonably high prices with irritating music and poor service insisting on at least 10% tip. Could be 3 stars if only they would not rip off tourists. That's just not fair and I don't know how what they do is legal.

Slow, unfriendly service from our server. They brought baskets of bread without us asking - but the bread was stale and there was no butter or anything else to improve it. The waiter refused to serve me 0.3l of beer even though this was listed on the menu. Only outdoor seating available in March. While there were heaters, the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming so sitting outside wasn’t pleasant. If the food had been delicious then maybe it would have made up for it. We got a vegetarian burger and the grilled goats cheese salad which took ages to come out and was cold on arrival. I wish I’d read the reviews before because it’s exactly as others have described. Waiter insisted on his tip despite being one of the worst waiters I’ve experienced. One positive - it is a nice central location (which is why it gets 1 star).

Pro tip: Stay away!This place has a cryptic menu leading to prices that are double what you expect. Be careful and avoid at all costs!Overpriced food to start with.Plus 50 per person cover charge.If you order soup/goulash, be careful they charge you the entree portion without asking.Extra for sides that they bring without disclosing the prices.Then, they beg for tips as if the cover charge isn’t a tip.I’ve lived in Europe for 4 years and this was the worst restaurant scam I’ve ever experienced. I’ve spent more for great meals in Prague, but the scam and trickery just feels wrong.

ŠVEJK RESTAURANT
Terrible service. As soon as we said we are not eating anything, just drinking the waiter seemed annoyed. When he brought our drinks he almost throw it onto the table. When paying the bill he told us the amount including the tip(which is not mandatory). Just after we saw the bill we noticed he already charged us the tip.Luckily we didn't eat anything there as seeing the reviews we would get cheated on heavily.Definitely avoid. Tourist trap at it's worst.

Yummy goulash but wayyyy overpriced. Was charged two extra things on the receipt, which from reviews seems to be for the bread and sauces. Took a bit to get the waiter's attention to take our order, but was very friendly. He saw i was taking photos of the food and came over and offered to take pictures of me and my partner.

SKIP THIS RESTAURANT! Tourist trap. It was our 3rd night in Prague and eaten in different local restaurants so we can compare the food and the prices. This was the WORST AND MOST EXPENSIVE OF ALL. My food was RAW, oozing with blood for a beef steak. The server told me that they serve their steak medium!! My friend’s food was disgusting, swimming in a pool of sauce! Our server was sweet and friendly but can’t speak English. I felt sorry for her but we can’t give a tip for this kind of food and experience. We are trying to tell her that we can’t give her the tip (which is not compulsory) but still wanted to charge us plus with things that we didn’t even ordered or wanted. had to explain it to the other staff. Best way to ruin your night. We still love Prague!
