Romantický hotel Mlýn Karlštejn

We recently had a wedding at this hotel. They have a wonderfully picturesque island next to the hotel that is accessible via a little bridge.The event was fantastic! We were very well taken care of by the staff and especially Mr. František who made sure that the event went smoothly, he took care of our needs throughout the evening and nothing was ever a problem. He was kind, efficient, and very pleasant!The rooms are large and comfortable, the food is very good and the atmosphere is delightful.Mr. Bautkin, the manager of the hotel, was very friendly, helpful and insightful when it came to the organization of the wedding.Great experience overall. We had 93 guests. Weather turned out perfectly and we hope to return again to celebrate our anniversary!Good value establishment and good quality/price balance.

This is a really charming hotel! Rooms are clean and well kept by staff. Restaurant is good with price aligned to period. The staff is very kind and competent!Hotel is 35 minutes from Prague. My advice to visit the city is to go to CHODOV park&ride facility and took the Metro C (red) from there. There you'll find also an huge hypermall.For sure I'll be back here in next occasion.

Perfect hotel to relax,restaurant rather average,but perfect breakfast,quiet surrounding and beautiful park on the river and the railwaytrack doesnt disturb if you take a room to the river.One little minus-without navi I wouldnt have found it!

As we were driving out of Karlštejn towards Prague we spotted this hotel across the river Berounka and decided to turn the car around and paid it a visit. Since both my wife and I were hungry we order a nice big lunch and decided to sit outside on the huge wooden terrace where our dog was very welcome too. It was fantastic. The food was good and the beer was cold and in the Czech Republic the prices are always good :) From the terrace you have a lovely view over the river and the lawn in front of the restaurant. It made us feel like we were really rich! This place is definitely worth a visit. And the parking was free too.

Room Interior kept in the turn of the millennia style, tv cables absolutely everywhere, no kettle or coffee machine anywhere to be found, no WiFi codes in the rooms which wouldn’t be a problem apart from the reception being locked in the morning, with no bell to call any staff, oh wait there we no staff at 6 in the morning so work will wait until they wake up I guess, mini fridge has bottled items in there with no bottle opener. Staff are slow, like you turn up to check in with no one at the reception so you go get a drink from the bar and the bartender asks if you could wait whilst he goes and finishes whatever he was doing in the kitchen for 15 minutes. Overall experience, your overcharged for an old mill house. Would not go back

Great hotel at a beautiful chateau. Amazing scenery. Walking distance from the Castle. Definitely recommend.

Landscape is spectacular. Food is excellent but it took long to get served and I got my dish removed before I finished my side dish. All in all, a nice place, a must-see but I was perhaps unfortunate with the speeds"."

I can't remember any other restaurant I've visited in last couple of years, which would have poorer guest service than this particular one! Really annoying and so much frustrating! The place is wonderful here - I mean beautiful building, cosy rooms and gorgeous atmosphere at the river bank, but the staff at the restaurant simply from another planet. We're family of four, daughters 2&5 yo, and we had to wait full hour before they served us the dinner. Even the soup came the very same moment as the rest. And quality of the food? Well, don't expect any gourmet dishes, but rather very ordinary stuff, cold soup, cheap toast bread and boring vegetable salad. On the other hand I have to be honest - the breakfast in the following morning was wonderful, fresh and rich. Fruits, yoghurts, granola, cheese, ham, homemade cakes and a lot more - all perfect.

Rooms should be definitelly cleaner (especially bathroom)Would expect more for houndred euro room.Personel was geat.Location is wonderful.

I visited restaurant and it was simply disaster. First of all waitress completely uninterested to seat us and annoyed that we even bothered her with our presence. It was four of us but only two small tables were available. However other tables in drink section were completely empty. But she refused to seat us and simply left. We waited couple minutes then she got back without any intention to try to seat us outside. We had to suggest to her that it would be ok to move two chairs to that small table, which then we had to take from other empty table. Then two of us ordered fish and potatoes and after some time we got two full meals and two plates of potatoes. Fish didn't come though. So after another 5 minutes we asked about the fish and the response from the waitress was that she didn't take the order but it is being prepared. Then after abother 10 mins we asked about the fish as it still didn't come. It took 20 mins to get the fish after we received all other meals and side dishes. I was simply ashamed to have brought my fds over there. Food was mediocre at best, prices high and service terrible. There were 6 more guests and 4 waitresses and they still managed to be lousy and annoyed. After this experience I will definitely not come again...
