Nový hrad | Oficiální web městské části Praha - Kunratice | Stavba Nového hradu byla zahájena na pokyn krále Václava IV. roku 1411. Po Václavově smrti v roce 1419 zde krátce pobývala královna Žofie a během roku 1420 hrad několikrát navštívil Zikmund Lucemburský. Poté, co Nový hrad v následujícím roce dobyli a vyplenili Pražané (včetně vynikající knihovny), už žádný panovník neprojevil zájem ho obnovit.[1] Roku 1736 byla na pokyn

Ruins of a small castle on a steep hill in a big park / woods - there are two possible ways to come to the castle and one of them is the steep hill. Check the map and conditions if you plan to go. The surroundings are really nice, there's a wooden bridge too

Excellent spot, almost forgotten. What was once the house of Kings is now a ruin. There is a sign explaining the place but it is in Czech...

the walk there and back is a good onebut the castle is simply not there, just some groundwork remnants

It's a really lovely walk through the forest, but the ruins are not the highlight, they are fine don't get me wrong and the info tables around the path are very interesting. The info boards and the woods are the most interesting and lovely

Beutiful place with ruinated castle of Vaclav 4th. Nice view of Prague 4 fro m the hill.

Wasn't expecting to find this here, in the middle of a forest surrounded by Prague. It was really funny. If you want to visit a ruin of a castle I wouldn't recommend it as the signs are only in Czech and no English translation. If you stumble in to it during your walk, sure would go and have a look!

Great walk in the beautiful forest led me to this place. It must have been a stunning castle before. Still very impressionable ruins.
