HOTEL BERG

I have just got back from this hotel, and wanted to write my review. On entry the receptionist really does make this hotel. very helpful and is in breakfast in the morning and diner in the evening.the wellness is really good with 4 different saunas, although the hot tub and pool are not huge, and would be quite tight if more than 4 people in either.during our stay, there was only a fixed menu, and not a great selection. we decided to eat at another location as the choice was not really what we would enjoy :(the rooms are very clean, although ours on floor 3 was a little tight both in the bedroom and the bathroom, where we could only open the door maximum 2 thirds.the location is really good, right next to the lake and at the start of the Blue walking route.we didn't book any massages prior to arrival, but found all availability was fully booked, so unable to comment on these services.Response to question:The following, I believe, equates to three stars.Due to being unable to eat an evening meal due to only 1 meat option of food.At breakfast, there was only a small amount of each option, so we had to ask for more each day, as an example 1 slice of cheese and limited bread.As said above restriction in not being able to fully open the bathroom door.Shower where you can not bend and just about turn around in.The hot tub which fits max 4 same as pool.Staff taking items from the buffet for themselves, possibly leading to the limited breakfast, and no excuse to not see the limited availability.Coffee machine needing repairing each day.The bed is 2 separate mattresses, which separate during the nigh.My review above was a general overview and I was not going to go into specifics, but due to your response, I felt it only fair to fully reply.For me and the previous hotels I have stayed in (feel free to look on here and booking.con) in my opinion, a rate of 3 is more than acceptable, although after this response, will not be returning.

stayed in the hotel for weekend welness relax - very clean place, good wellness and high quality dinner and breakfast. surrounded by forests offering nice walks along the lake. recomended for weekend getaway

Considering the restaurant - Great food, fine service. Actually one of a few open during November. And probably one of the best on the south bank of Máchovo jezero.

Byla jsem na víkendový pobyt a jsem velmi spokojená. Personál opravdu ochotný a vstřícný, snídaně i večeře velmi dobré, wellness přístupný celý den, procedury skvělé.

S pobytem jsme byli velmi spokojeni. Veškerý personál opravdu ochotný a vstřícný. Snídaně formou bufetu výborné. Welnes přístupný takřka celý den.

Nice, relaxing stay.Wellness was good, even there was an issue with the hot tube first day when we arrived water was very cold but we used sauna instead. Next day everything worked perfectly.Room was clean, bit smelly but once we opened windows it was all good.Receptionist was very nice and helpful.Breakfast I think was not as great as we are used to.But overall we had a nice time.

We were refused by the restaurant manager to order a meal as kitchen has no capacity while the restaurant was completely empty.

Dinners at the restaurant were good and the person who worked there was very helpful. As the receptionist didn’t speak English she asked the waiter to translate and he was the one who helped us solve our issuesThe receptionist (at least one of them) does not speak English, that is ridiculous for a 4* hotel. In general receptionists were not present there most of the time and we had to call them to get help. Our double room didn’t have any windows, only balcony door (there are mostly pictures of another room in the description so we didn’t expect that. The room is gloomy and stuffy and you have to pay additional fee to use the air conditioner (that is very ancient).Breakfast are modest though they offer Prosecco. Coffee is poor. We left one day before we initially planned.
