My child studied at AAP for 1.5 years while we recently lived abroad. American Academy offered an excellent education and kept her on track with or even a little ahead of her peers “back home”. I like that AAP offers project-based learning and small class sizes / individual attention. Most impressively, the teachers are kind, energetic & knowledgeable. They allow room for creativity and individual expression while still promoting progress. The admin staff are wonderful. They are a small staff, but highly organized and experienced. I wish all my children could have gone to a school this great.

I went here for 3 years and it was the best school I've ever been to. I would highly recommend except that it is pretty expensive. Pay no attention to negative reviews here, I loved this school the teachers and the friends here. They supported me greatly and changed me for better. I couldn't have asked for a school better than this. I would go back to it if I could.

In my opinion, TIS has a really high educational quality. Some teachers have made me feel like i can achieve anything academically and restored my belief in myself and the joy of learning! the friendships you make are forever :)

I spent nearly all of my secondary school education at Townshend as well as my primary years. I gained long lasting friendships that I haven't made at any other schools. However, the academic side of Townshend is suffering. When I was in Level 2/year 11 many amazing teachers left and others were made to teach subjects that they never had before causing the students to suffer. It meant that my academics began to fail as well as the majority of my classmates. When I transferred to another school my former classmates told me that the quality was still declining and many students were forced to retake their exams the following year. For this reason studying at this school is an academic gamble but I loved it socially and my closest friends are those that I made at Townshend.

I truly loved going to AAB! The teachers are very dedicated to student progress, they are very helpful, provide detailed feedback. Mr. Novak is a great leader in the school, and also a great teacher in social sciences. Readings for classes are varied (for example, in International Relations class we red the New Yorker article) and do prepare you for college. Theme weeks are also a fun concept and some can be quite rewarding in the terms of experiences, but there are some misses too.Compared to the school that I have attended in the US, I liked the fact that the number of student is much smaller (circa 60 versus 600) which does help especially for someone that is neuroatypical and struggled to make friends at a larger school. Here I made friendships which still last. The only thing I really found to complain about is that the college counseling can be a little bit unhelpful and limited and over-focused on the education in Anglosphere, because there are universities in Europe providing undergraduate degrees which are quite underrated (ex. Tallinn, Hradec Kralove, Wroclaw etc.) but I guess most students attend an American school in order to get into an American Uni. Also, most Czech students here want to study at a Czech Uni.I think that the school has prepared me well for college- I am currently a student a Masaryk, FSS, and I am doing quite well!

I have been studying at the American academy since it ever started. The unique thing about this school is exposure to practice knowledge ( you just don’t learn math formula, rather you will have enough knowledge of where to use it). The staff is very friendly and teachers are amazing as well. It’s just that the school needs to offer some more difficult math abject a and high level subjects as compulsory, because from my personal experience the level of math is pretty low and easy and cannot prepare you for university level math. Otherwise, the school is amazing.

American Academy je náš splněný sen o možnosti poskytnutí perfektního vzdělání. Když tato příležitost přišla, neváhali jsme ani minutu a volba budoucnosti na této škole pro našeho syna byla jasná. Nejlepší zpětnou vazbou je absolutní spokojenost syna a jeho touha trávit ve škole co nejvíce času. Radost nás rodičů z přehledu a schopnosti komunikace v angličtině je nekonečná.Doporučujeme :-)
